First create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "RPGUtilite.c" file in the "\Program Files\Playlogic\Age of Pirates 2\Program\characters" directory. Search for the extension named "void initMainCharacterItem()" and look those lines. You can edit the starting money by changing the "pchar.money = 500" line (for an adventurer) to "pchar.money = 99999999". The adventurer class will now start with this amount of money. Scroll up and you can edit the starting stats of the characters. For example, find the lines:

Change all those numbers to 10, so it now reads:
case "Merchant":
SetSPECIAL(ch, 10,10,10,10,10,10,10);
break;
The merchant class will now start with 10 in all stats.

Developer mode First create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "_mod_on_off" file in the "\Age of Pirates 2\program\" directory. The file includes directions on how it is used. Changing a setting from "Off" to "On" will allow you to press [F11] in the game, where you can add skills, money, etc. Note: You must exit the menu by clicking the "X" in the corner and not the "Ok" button. Also after using [F11], go to the main menu, select "Options", then click the setting to restore the keyboard defaults. www.chaptercheats.com/cheats/pc/29005.htm
